I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay’s  capital city, South America. Since my early years I have had a passion for drawing and  painting. In 1976 at the age of 13, I had the honor to study drawing in Continental Schools, a well known institution led by  the great teacher and watercolorist, Esteban Garino in Montevideo. Then I started developing my art skills by exploring the  world of  comics, as well as pencil drawing. Some years later as a teenager, I made my first attempts  in mixed media, pastel,  and oil  crayons. I continued my studies in the visual arts at the School of the Fine Arts at the University of the Republic  Oriental of  Uruguay.

In 1989 I moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Living in such a large, cosmopolitan city was a unique experience that opened my  mind to avidly explore different techniques with Cristina Dartiguelongue, an outstanding artist who inspired me in the search of my own style.

More than a decade later, life took me to Winston Salem, NC.  I continued to feel the need to express myself through  art as a  way  of transmitting my emotions and my feelings. I found in the U.S. a deep love for diverse expressions of art in a variety of  media.  Here in Atlanta, I received much encouragement from other artists to express myself freely and start opening to  others.

Art gives me the opportunity to create and share my cultural background in the communities I have the pleasure to live in.  Traveling opens my heart and mind to absorb many feelings and sensations that my surroundings evoke. My inspiration is  nurtured  in this way.  I am in constant search of my personal style where surrealism is appreciated through the use of  contrasting colors and  textures. My abstract paintings own details that I expect transmit a strong message through  symbolism.

Through art, I want to contribute to our diverse community by including a new point of view, expressing  emotions that  contribute  my personal perspective of the world.
